DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE

JUNE 26- INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING.......

JOIN HANDS AGAINST THE DRUG DEMON

This day could be a time to review our commitment to be empathetic to those Dependant on alcohol and other drugs. It could also be a warning bell to all those struggling with drugs; a time for quick self-evaluation.

As wide and diverse as the culture of India , so wide are the options of drugs available.. They consists of stimulants(uppers) depressants(downers), cannabis, opioid and opiates , solvents and inhalants, hallucinogens and other psychedelic drugs and the more recent threats like roofies and ketamine. The long term effects of these drugs are very dangerous and fatal....

"Unless we reduce demand for illicit drugs, we can never fully tackle cultivation, production or trafficking. Governments have a responsibility to counteract both drug trafficking and drug abuse, but communities can also make a major contribution. Families, schools, civil society and religious organizations can do their part to rid their communities of drugs. Businesses can help provide legitimate livelihoods. The media can raise awareness about the dangers of narcotics."
